the title says it all. literally, kinulit ko ang brother ko na ilibre kami. =p his super post-bday treat. we went all the way to ayala triangle for a Kanin Club treat even if i really feel awful that night (morning sickness at night. =p).

sakto, i was craving for crispy dinuguan, the only dinuguan i'll ever eat in my lifetime. thanks pearlz for sharing this to me! =D

i'll just give Kanin Club 3 out of 5 rating. their tinapa rice (wasn't able to take a pic) was too salty. Kanin Club in Paseo de Sta. Rosa definitely gives more value to your money.

a thousand times...

i've decided to take mommy out aside from SM Calamba and Los Baños for the last time before we finally left calamba, my home for 6 years.

choice was between paseo de sta. rosa and tagaytay. we were hoping to also pay a visit to ninang thess at tagaytay so mommy chose to go there instead.

itinerary was short. super late lunch at Leslie's and coffee/dessert at Bag of Beans. a short but sweet visit indeed. =)

cinemalaya 2012

i know it's a super late post. but then my goal is to be able to post all of my blog back logs before 2013. so this should count. =p

i loooooovvvveeee this day. i know i love watching movies but i have this "bias" over indie movies. i love the interesting plots. original stories. everything! =)

my personal faves for this year's cinemalaya:

• "balintuna" - super nice cinematography
• "ang nawawala" (best original musical score for new breed full length category) - ang pogi ni felix roco!!!! =) and i also love how it would make you think about what the ending really means.
• "mga mumunting lihim" (best editing, best screenplay, best performance of a supporting actress and best performance of an actress for directors showcase full length category) - need i say more if you have judy ann, iza, janice and agot as main actresses? =) though i was able to watch it during commercial screening and not on cinemalaya event itself.
• "bwakaw" (best performance of an actor for directors showcase full length category) - this movie made me laugh, cry and touched my heart like no other. everyone knows that i always cry when a story involves man's best friend.i just can't help it. *sniff* i was also able to watch it only on commercial screening and not on cinemalaya event itself.

this day was super with all those wonderful films and the company of awesome friends. plus na lang na makita si felix roco in person. hihi. =p looking forward for cinemalaya 2013. ^_^

Moksha Bar Heels Night

at times we all get too busy to dress for the part. with thesis for my post grad studies and work, it's rare to see me wearing heels.

so when Jam and Ceriz asked us to dress up and wear heels for their bday bash, why not?! =D thank God they did! it really felt good to feel confident and look nice. we should do this more often guys.

Quesadillas ala ecka ^_^

since the first time my two best girls, Debs and Irene, brought me to Mexicali, Cheese and Garlic Quesadillas had been my staple order. my Mom's kinda choosy in food but she had also loved the quesadillas at first taste. =)

so i searched the net for the recipe. experimented till i ended up with the following:


Ingredients:


butter
ready to cook quesadillas (available at SM grocery)
crushed garlic
quickmelt cheese


How to:


- Grease pan with butter
- Heat both sides of the Quesadilla
- Fill in with quickmelt cheese and few bits of crushed garlic
- Fold the Quesadilla in two


voila! enjoy! ^_^

food trip at baguio

i rewarded myself with a trip to baguio together with two of my closest friends from the office. it was mommy mel's first time to go to baguio and jen was our guide since she used to work there for quite some time. it's a happy trip since there's never a dull moment with my girls. one could often find us laughing. laughing about absolutely everything.

if there's one more thing that bonds us. it's food. no doubt about it. we love to eat fishball, shawarma, fruit shakes, ihaw2x outside science park, sizzling and pansit. and our food trips didn't stopped there.

helloooo baguio! hello good food! we ate breakfast at 50's diner, mel had unlimited strawberry and fresh strawberry ice cream at the strawberry farm, fishball at tam-awan village while waiting for the Igorot dancers, canto's super ribs, shrimp curry at little john's Camp John Hay, moist chocolate cake at everything nice, banana cue coated with honey at Mine's View Park and Selecta Ice Cream on strawberry cone along Session Road.

overall, the environment at baguio wasn't as good as i've seen it 5 years ago. the botanical garden was under construction and the view at Mines View Park wasn't that nice too. =c the super good food and the climate became their saving grace for me. another plus that made me happy was that i was able to try zipline and rappel at CJH! yey! another one off my bucket list. yipee!!!! =D
