be vigilant

with just 4 hours of sleep, i woke up and prepared to go and hear this week's Good News with my mom and brother.

it's mommy's special day so right after mass, we just went to do our weekly grocery then headed to Joey Pepperoni for lunch. c",)

i bought this cute red angry bird chocolate cupcake from bonggak pastries to make her birthday extra special. the design was made of fondant, the cupcake's moist and overall, it really tastes good. job well done to bonggak peeps. =D

the birthday celebrant, my Mom with the angry bird cupcake. haha! =p

then off to our lunch. my mom loves Joey Pepperoni because of their thin crust pizza. Joey Pepperoni's our usual date place. =p

gelato's new at their menu list so we decided to give it a try. the chocolate gelato of course tasted like chocolate except for the part where you can eat a bit of whole ice. kinda weird.=p but the pistachio's the one for the win! it tasted better than that of Yellow Cab's. mind you, it really tasted like pistachio. finally found the perfect pistachio ice cream. c",)

sorry for the crappy pic. my brother already mixed the spaghetti bolognese before i was able to take a decent pic of it. =p

my staple order - Carbonara. creamy. superb. =p

i REALLY like the fries. crunchy on the outside. mushy on the inside. that's it. i don't like the chicken fingers. there's something about the oil where it was cooked upon. haha!

the WORKS. mommy's fave =D

my brother and my mom

with my mom =) i love you to million bits mommy! <3

it was supposed to be a happy lunch until an unfortunate event happened to one of the dining customers seated just beside us. i've already seen that kind of modus operandi while watching the evening news a few weeks back. they come inside the establishment as a group then they will hurriedly go out taking your valuables with them. =c

i saw that at Mang Inasal's CTV shot. unluckily, Joey Pepperoni doesn't have a CTV camera. what i remembered of the incident was that the man left around 80 pesos worth of Php20 bills on the floor. i even thought that he's asking us if we left it. and found it weird that he just hurriedly went off without taking his money with him.

then right at the middle of our lunch, the girl beside me went hysterical upon losing her date's pouch. apparently, the Japanese or Chinese guy (her date) just left his pouch at the chair beside him. in it was their car keys, cellphone and medicines.

they've reported the incident to the mall's security but still. i pity them for losing their things. and i also feel sad for the foreigner that he had to experience this during his visit here at Philippines. totally not good for the image of our country right?

why do people have to do such kind of things? i know the answer. poverty. but i think even poverty's not enough reason to do such an unkind act to anyone.

it's a dog eats dog kind of environment outside the comfort of our homes. let's be vigilant. always.

  1. presence of mind is indeed critical! an unguarded moment is always prone to be taken advantage of. btw, belated happy birthday to your mom! :D
